Nitish meets Modi, seeks Centre’s help for Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi raising the issue of Central funding to Bihar. After the acrimonious personality clash during the Lok Sabha election, this is the first meeting between the two leaders.
According to reports, Nitish urged the Prime Minister to help Bihar and requested that steps should be taken for improving the condition of Bihar. Nitish is also reported to have advocated that the state should get special status.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Janata Dal (United) had broken its 17-year-old alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar.
