RSS vows to unleash ‘tsunami of services’ to reach all social sections
Last month, when Sangh’s Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha met in Napur, the organisation had decided that it would work towards consolidating the Hindus in the country.
With the RSS declaring “inclusive Hinduism” as its key strategy to expand, a three-day meet of the social work organisations affiliated to it, ended on Monday resolving to unleash a tsunami of service without any trace of “untouchability” and no section of the society be left out.
“It is one thing to serve in the tsunami but India needs a tsunami of services, we have to work like that,” RSS joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said on the concluding day of a three-day conclave organised by Rashtriya Sewa Bharati, an umbrella organisation that supports nearly 700 organisations involved in social work.
The meet, ‘Rashtriya Sewa Sangam’, was in news also because of the presence of corporate leaders like Wipro Chairman Azim Premji.

Last month, when Sangh’s Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha met in Napur, the organisation had decided that it would work towards consolidating the Hindus in the country. “One well, one temple and one crematorium” for all Hindus was declared as its motto to end the caste discrimination and bring back those who have moved away. Hosabale said there should be no “untouchability” in service and that no section of the society be left weak.
Addressing the conclave, that happens once in every five years, Hosabale stressed on the need to focus on increasing the number of people covered, speed, dimension of services offered, besides their quality and impact on the society.
On Sunday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, too, had spoken about expanding the sphere of work and said that though much progress had been made it was still minuscule considering the vast society that needed to be covered. He had called for doubling the efforts to cover more people.
Other prominent people who attended the meet include GM Rao of the GMR group and spiritual leader Mata Amritanandmayi. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai had attended the inauguration of an exhibition a day before the conclave began.
Senior RSS functionaries Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi, Dattatreya Hosabale, Suresh Soni, Krishna Gopal, Suhas Hiremath and Ajit Mahapatra also attended the meet.
