Paresh Rawal’s Dharam Sankat irks BJP colleague Subramanian Swamy
BJP MP and actor Paresh Rawal’s latest flick Dharam Sankat, which failed to set box office on fire, has irked his party colleagues. The satire features Paresh as a hardcore Hindu who comes to know that he was actually born in a Muslim family.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy expressed displeasure over the film saying he is fed up with over the top cliché of Hindu beliefs. He blasted the film for showing the character of Hindu godman, portrayed by Naseerudin Shah, as a pervert man who lusts for women and money.
“Look at these Hindu gurus. Always cunning perverts. Lusting after wealth, women and whiskey. We have been telling the same story for decades and will continue to do, in the name of freedom of expression,” wrote Swamy on a picture blog.
He also expressed disappointment over the fact the the film features an MP from his own party. “Also disappointing is the fact that these movies prominently feature an actor who happens to be a BJP MP,” writes Swamy.
Swamy and other BJP leaders had earlier criticised actor Aamir Khan for his last release PK that talked about religious dogmas and superstitions.
