Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Lions (GL) come into Sunday’s clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai having achieved contrasting victories in their previous matches. While one had to grind it out in Bengaluru, the other enjoyed a stroll in Rajkot.
The hosts will be pleased with Kieron Pollard’s return to form after the West Indian constructed a mature 70 to bail MI out of a tight spot against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Pandya brothers – Krunal and Hardik – have been in fine form too. MI have won three matches on the bounce after losing their opening tie, and either one of the Baroda boys has made a healthy contribution in each of them.
The worry for MI remains the form of skipper captain Rohit Sharma, with the local boy managing just nine runs in the first four matches.
