Twitter panics after video of robots opening lock looks eerily similar to ‘Black Mirror’s Metalhead
The latest season of Black Mirror managed to scare the audiences to the next degree. Creator Charlie Brooker won 2017 Emmys for the show that features stories based on the darker side of the use of technology. Well, with the exception of ‘San Junipero’ from season three.
Season four featured one episode titled ‘Metalhead’ which was shot entirely in black and white was one of the scariest one.
‘Metalhead’ was based in a dystopian era when robotic dogs hunt people/criminals.
Now Boston Dynamics has decided to make everyone relive their nightmares.
SpotMini ‘robodogs’ developed by Boston Dynamics – an engineering and robotics design company – look unsettlingly close to those fictional robotic creatures from the TV series.
Boston Dynamics is owned by Google after the 2013 acquisition. According to a report by Syfywire, SpotMini have graduated from loading the dishwasher to now opening the doors and helping each other out getting through unexpected obstacles.

The video rattled a lot of people who took to social media to express their fears Netflix, the streaming service which is now the house of Black Mirror, started it.
