Narendra Modi-Vasundhara Raje meet today, decision on BJP chief on cards?
The announcement of the new state president of Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now been postponed for two or three days. There is yet no agreement between Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the BJP’s top leadership. The top leadership wants to make Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat state president, while Raje is not ready to accept Shekhawat. At present, this entire episode has been postponed till Monday.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has been in Delhi for the past five days and had sought time to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but has not met him. The meeting can take place on Sunday. If sources are to be believed, the announcement of the State President and the convener of State Election Committee would now be made together. Raje has met with party’s national president Amit Shah, national vice president Om Prakash Mathur, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and has conveyed her opinion regarding the state president.
After which the central leadership gave Mathur and Rajnath Singh the responsibility of resolving the dispute of Rajasthan BJP President. According to sources, the central leadership is not ready to consider anyone other than Shekhawat.
