Dimapur incident: Nagaland CM promises action against culprits

Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang on Friday assured his Assamese counterpart Tarun Gogoi that those behind the lynching of a rape case accused in Dimapur will be punished.
According to a press release issued by Gogoi’s office, Zeliang assured that necessary action would be taken against the perpetrators who pulled out an alleged rapist from Dimapur Central Jail and lynched him on Thursday.

“In a telephonic conversation, Nagaland Chief Minister Zeliang told CM Gogoi that a probe into the incident has already been initiated,” it said.
Zeliang said a thorough investigation into the matter will be conducted and anyone found guilty will be punished accordingly.
“CM Zeliang also assured that if there were lapses on part of the officials, then necessary steps would be taken against them too,” the statement added.
