Digvijaya Singh received crores in payments from builder, says BJP
Congress leader Digvijay were among the many who lead the protest.
A fortnight after an FIR was filed against Digvijaya Singh in connection with alleged illegal recruitment in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly secretariat between 1993 and 2003, the BJP on Saturday fired one more salvo at the senior Congress leader alleging that he had received crores from a Bhopal-based builder.
Digvijaya Singh told The Indian Express that he was ready for an inquiry into the allegations. “Let them hand over the probe in this matter and the MPPEB scam to the CBI,” he said.
State BJP chief Nandkumar Chouhan said three diaries were seized from the builder during Income Tax raids in 2008 had entries showing payment to the tune of crores to “CM” (chief minister) and “H CM” (honorable Chief Minister). The entries recorded payment made to several people before October 2003.

“Everybody knows Digvijaya Singh was the chief minister then,” Chouhan said while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters on Saturday. Two BJP ministers were also present.
The BJP chief said the builder had admitted that the handwritten entries were made by him and that the diaries belonged to him. Quoting an Income Tax tribunal document, Chouhan said the builder had been penalized for those payments because he could not account for those expenses.
Like the builder, the former chief minister should also be penalized because by receiving money he had indulged in blatant corruption. Chouhan said the BJP will soon submit the details to the IT and indicated that the party will come out with more proofs against the Congress leader.
Chouhan denied that the BJP was targeting Digvijaya Singh because he had repeatedly raised the examination and recruitment scam and leveled charges against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his family members
