Bodies of runaway couple found hanging from tree in Bhiwani
A couple was found hanging from a tree Wedensday morning at Loharu in Haryana’s Bhiwani district. The two had been missing for the past week. Their families had lodged missing complaints with the state police.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the police indicate it to be a case of suicide.
A villager had informed the police about the bodies of a man and a woman hanging from a tree in the fields near Sahansara railway station in Loharu. Police reached the spot and identified the two as Pawan and Neetu from documents found on them. Both belonged to Jhuppa Khurd village.
Police have reportedly also recovered a suicide note that stated that they were ending their lives and nobody should be held responsible for their deaths.
The suicide note also mentioned that the couple had Rs 10,000 cash that they spent in the last five-six days. “Nobody helped us. Thus, we are ending our lives. We should be cremated together,” the suicide note read.
According to the police, Neetu’s father Naresh had lodged a missing complaint with the Loharu police station on March 14.
“Pawan’s father Satyanarain, in his statement to the police today, said he did not want any penal action against anybody. Neetu’s father also not did not hint at any foul play. It was a case of suicide. We have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. Bodies were handed over to their kin after the post-mortem examination,” said Inspector Jai Singh, SHO, Loharu.
