Five killed in J&K highway accident

Sources said the ill fated vehicle was on way from Jammu to Srinagar.

Atleast five passengers were killed Thursday morning when a TATA Sumo rolled down into a deep gorge near Shaitani nullah, Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

Sources said the ill fated vehicle was on way from Jammu to Srinagar. The driver appears to have lost control over the steering due to slippery conditions of the road. The highway was reopened after many days of closure due to landslides.

The identity of the deceased were not known yet as details are awaited. Police parties have rushed to the accident site.
