Vine for iOS will now preload videos for you to watch while offline
Vine doesn’t want to leave you waiting for something to watch, so it’s rolling out an update today that’s meant to make its iOS app faster when starting up and work while offline. The update will allow Vine to download videos even when the app is closed. Vine’s using this so that videos will be ready to go as soon as you open the app, even if you don’t have an internet connection.
Videos will preload from your main feed and from Vine’s explore section. That would eat up more of your data if it’s active while on a cellular connection — Vine’s blog post doesn’t say whether or not it’s Wi-Fi only — which could be a problem if you’re not a regular user.
