ED questions retired air marshal

Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers Thursday examined Air Marshal (Retired) Gautam Nayyar in connection with its probe into money laundering in the multi-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal for his alleged links to middleman Christian Michel James.

“A provisional attachment order had been issued and properties worth Rs 1.12 crore allegedly acquired by Michel in benami company M/s Media Exim Pvt Ltd have been attached.

These include a one-floor flat in Safdarjung Enclave whose registered value is Rs 54 lakh, a Honda Civic car nearly valued at Rs 4 lakh and fixed deposit worth Rs 54 lakh,” said an ED source. “Retired Air Marshal Gautam Nayyar was questioned today,” the source confirmed.
