Adding fuel to the ‘sexual harassment’ controversy in the Kerala Assembly mayhem, a senior Congress leader Friday said that one woman legislator “enjoyed the moments” when she was waylaid by a minister.
Kozhikode Congress chief K C Abu alleged that it was evident from the facial expressions of LDF legislator E S Bijimol that she was “enjoying” being blocked by Labour Minister Shibu Baby John.

During the Assembly mayhem last Friday when Finance Minister K M Mani tabled the budget, Bijimol was seen rushing to the seat of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. She was physically blocked by John.
He said, “From my long experience in family life, I can read the facial expressions of women. I could not see any objection on Bijimol’s side when John blocked her. She enjoyed the moment. She’s unlikely to have a complaint against him.”
Referring to LDF leader Jameela Prakasam’s allegation that Congress legislator K Sivadasan Nair had inappropriately touched her, Abu said, “Why Prakasam went after that aged man Nair? She could’ve bitten P K Basheer (IUML) who looks like sugar cane.”
