Land Acquisition Bill: Will hurt farmers, says Karunanidhi
DMK chief M Karunanidhi led a protest on Friday in Chennai against the land acquisition (amendment) bill, calling it “anti-farmer” and alleged that AIADMK had supported the proposed changes to the act in return for a “personal benefit” for J Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case.
While Karunanidhi himself attended the protest at Valluvarkottam in the city, his son and party treasurer M K Stalin launched the protests from Tiruvarur, Karunanidhi’s native town.

Addressing the protest, Karunanidhi said BJP could face downfall in the form of a revolution if people’s aspirations are ignored. “Massive protests are arising in different states. At least now, the BJP government should ponder over whether the Act should be implemented,” he said.
