The petition is likely to be mentioned for an urgent hearing before the court on Thursday.
Singh’s petition has claimed that the summoning order was not legal and against the principles of the criminal jurisprudence. Apart from challenging the order on technical grounds, he has said in his petition that there was no instance of alleged criminality that could be attributed to any of his acts as a coal minister.
Singh was summoned along with Kumar Mangalam Birla and others in connection with Hindalco coal allocation case.
