No rethink on pictorial warnings on tobacco packs: Nadda
Health minister J P Nadda has said till now there is no rethink in the government on introducing pictorial warnings covering 85 per cent of packaging for tobacco products from April 1.
The notification had been brought out last October, but the ministry has received many representations asking for the decision to be reconsidered, including one from chairman of the committee of subordinate legislations, a panel of MPs.

“As of today, the notification stands. It is the stand of the health ministry and that is what we have told the committee on subordinate legislations too. But the committee is yet to give its report. The report is the property of the House. We will examine it when we get it,” P Nadda said on the sidelines of a TB event.
