Shatrughan Sinha to play Sonakshi Sinha’s father in A R Murugadoss’ ‘Akira’, but won’t share screen space
All of Shatruji’s scenes are with the child actor playing Sonakshi’s childhood avatar.
For the first time, Shatrughan Sinha will be playing his own daughter acrtress Sonakshi Sinha’s father onscreen in A R Murugadoss’ next ‘Akira’. But reportedly, the Sinha duo will not be sharing screen space in the movie.
According to a report published in Bollywoodhungama.com, “When Murugadoss approached Shatruji, the actor was told he played the film’s lifeline. But his character dies while Sonakshi’s character is a still a child. So, all of Shatruji’s scenes are with the child actor playing Sonakshi’s childhood avatar. Later in the film Shatruji’s voice serves as a guiding force in Sonakshi’s life. But they never come together face-to-face.”
However, since the veteran actor is of the opinion that such arrangement won’t go down well with the audiences, he has asked the makers to include atleast one sequence featuring him and Sonakshi together.
‘Akira’ is Murugadoss’ first original script in Hindi.
