No toilet in school, UP girl out to relieve herself gangraped by seniors
Medical examination of the 13-year-old victim has been conducted and the report is awaited.
A Class V student was allegedly gangraped by two of her seniors, students of Class VII and Class VIII, when she went out to relieve herself in a field situated near her school, police said Friday. The government-run school, in Maharajganj police station area of Rae Bareli district, has no toilets.
The incident took place Wednesday and came to light Thursday when the girl’s mother lodged a police complaint naming the two accused. The police caught the Class VII student, while the other is absconding.
Medical examination of the 13-year-old victim has been conducted and the report is awaited, police said.
Station House Officer, Maharajganj police station, Paras Ram Tripathi said the boy caught is 15-years-old and has been sent to juvenile home. The other boy named in the case is 14-years-old. The victim and the accused belong to the same village. Both the boys have been booked on charges of rape and under SC/ST Act.
The SHO said, the girl is a student of government primary school while the boys are studying in secondary school, which has a different buildings but is located on the same campus. The school does not have a toilet following which the girl had gone outside to relieve herself, he added.
According to SHO, as per the complaint, on Wednesday afternoon the boys caught the girl as she was returning from the field after relieving herself. They took turn raping her before escaping from the spot, he said.
The SHO added that the victim did not join the class but returned home and informed her mother. The next day the mother lodged the complaint with the police station and an FIR was lodged against both the boys.
