Woman who stayed illegally at IAS academy claims to have paid bribe to senior officer
A woman who had stayed illegally for six months inside the campus of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at Mussoorie appeared before the media in Dehradun to narrate her side of story on Thursday.
The woman identified as Ruby Choudhari leveled allegations against a senior officer of the academy for accepting Rs 5 lakhs bribe in the name of giving her a job at the academy’s library. Ruby also alleged that it was officer the who had provided her with a fake identity card of ATI, Nainital. In the ID card, she was described as a SDM.
“I had paid a bribe of Rs five lakhs to the officer for getting a job in the academy’s library. I used to frequently visit the academy to pursue my case. I was not a regular resident there,” Ruby told reporters.

According to Ruby, she first came in contact with the officer at a function at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, last year. Ruby said she had first visited Academy campus in September, 2014. She also claimed that she had submitted an application for a job at the academy’s library.
“It was the officer who made arrangements for my stay at the house of security guard Dev Singh,” she said.
She also blamed him for providing her with a fake identity card. “I had then protested against issuance of the I-card in my name. He did not respond to my objection,” Ruby said. She also claimed that she had never used the fake ID card during her stay. Ruby said that she used to get entry passes to the academy in the name of meeting either the senior officer or the security guard Dev Singh.
The academy officer, despite several attempts, could not be reached for a comment.
As per Ruby’s statement, the academy authorities concerned, on March 27, had sealed the room in which her belongings were kept. “Why the academy failed to register the FIR against me soon after sealing the room?” Ruby questioned. The Academy has registered the FIR against her only on March 31. She also claimed that she was allowed to leave the campus on March 27.
“I want an impartial probe in this matter,” Ruby said. She also claimed that she is co-operating with the police in the investigation.
