Lohia’s statue was washed after I garlanded it: Jitan ram Manjhi

Former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Monday alleged that RJD workers and members of the Lohia Vichar Manch had “washed” a statue of the late socialist leader Dr Ram Manohar Lohia he garlanded it in Supaul on Sunday.
Manjhi also alleged his houses in Gaya and Patna were under scanner and his life was in danger. He said he had lodged an FIR in Gaya a month ago, but nothing was done by the Nitish Kumar government.
Manjhi, who has been campaigning against Nitish amid talks of a Janata Parivar merger, said: “Lohia is not anyone’s property. I am dismayed to learn that the statue was washed after I garlanded it.”

Manjhi has, in the past, alleged that a Madhubani temple was cleaned after his visit.
Manjhi loyalist and former minister Mahachandra Prasad Singh said, “I learnt about the statue being washed and brought it to the government’s notice.”
