A Kerala man residing in Yemen for last eight years was reportedly missing. Quoting the telephone calls from the missing man’s wife in Yemen, family sources in Malappuram said he was suspected to be in the custody of Houthi radicals. But Non-Resident Keralites Affairs Department (NORKA) said they have no official information in that regard.
Salman, 42, a native of Areekkode in Malappuram, has been living in Yemen for the last eight years with his wife and five children.

Areekode panchayat president P P Safarulla said Salman’s wife informed his family that he was taken away by a group of Houthi men from his residence a few days back. Other men who were captured along with Salman were released the other day. She said Salman was in the custody of Houthi rebels.
Salman has been a farm worker and rearing livestock in Yemen. After moving to Yemen, Salman had never visited his family in Kerala, said Sarafulla.
However, NORKA chief executive officer R S Kannan said they have no official communication in this regard from any agencies.
