Cops seek custody of Patankar’s drug suppliers

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Tuesday moved court seeking permission to take Shashikala alias Baby Patankar’s supplier Manikan Samuel into custody.

DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni confirmed the development.

Samuel, from whom Patankar is believed to have bought around 150 kilograms of drugs from January to December 2014, was lodged in the Arthur Road Central Jail following his arrested in a drug peddling case.

On Monday, the crime branch got his case file and on Tuesday filed an application in court asking for permission to take him into their custody in connection with the Patankar case, said officers.
