Is there is an attempt to kill BSNL?, asks BJP MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat
BJP MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat spoke about govt-run BSNL’s poor services
How has been your experience of the wi-fi facility in Parliament?
It is dysfunctional. Broadband ka to Bhagwan hi maalik hai.
Did you personally take up the matter with anyone?
Yes. I met the current Secretary-General as well his predecessor to apprise them of the problem. The problem remained unaddressed.
Why did you choose to flag the wi-fi problems faced by the MPs?
My question was about the BSNL, but when I found that members had underlined the same points which I had planned to speak on, I decided to focus on something different.
How do you view the working of the BSNL?
The BSNL was earning a profit of Rs 10,000 crore in 2006. It is now suffering a loss of Rs 6,000 crore a year. Is there an attempt to kill the BSNL; pave the way for its privatisation?
Your question was applauded by the Opposition. Will it be construed as an anti-party act?
I have articulated a genuine grouse of members. Why would the party leadership take an adverse view?
