After Jaya’s acquittal in DA case, AIADMK brainstorms on her next move

Moments after she was acquitted, AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa began consultations with senior party functionaries, including incumbent Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, over her party’s next move, at her residence in Chennai.

The meeting which is being attended by top party functionaries is currently on at “Veda Nilayam” bungalow at Poes Garden.

A decision is set to be taken on when Jayalalithaa would be formally elected as leader of the legislature party, and later as chief minister, party men said.

Party men and supporters, meanwhile, have been continuously pouring in at the Poes Garden shouting slogans in praise of Jayalalithaa and seeking her immediate return as chief minister.

A formal announcement from AIADMK is expected soon.
