Rape videos on porn sites: CBI makes 3rd arrest
Kaushik Kuonr was arrested for uploading three rape videos on pornographic websites.
The CBI, which is probing videos of rapes or gangrapes of unidentified victims uploaded on social networking sites and MMS services by unknown persons, on Thursday made its third arrest in the case from Bengaluru.
According to the CBI, Kaushik Kuonr was arrested for uploading three such videos on pornographic websites. “Kuonr was arrested from Bengaluru, and will be brought to Delhi on a transit remand. He had uploaded three of the videos on pornographic websites. During a search of his residence, around 500 such video clips were found along with sophisticated editing software,” said a CBI source.
On March 31, the CBI had arrested Debashis Dev (30), a resident of Hulipur in Cuttack, for recording a video clip in which Subrat Sahu alias Kalia is seen engaging in a sexual act with an unidentified girl. A video clip of the act was recorded and disseminated without the girl’s consent. On March 23, the CBI had arrested Sahu from Bhubaneswar.
The CBI is probing eight Regular Cases (RCs) and one Preliminary Enquiry (PE) in connection with the uploaded videos — all of separate incidents. Six FIRs relate to gangrape, abduction, and dissemination of sexual violence against women; the seventh pertains to rape among the other charges; and the eighth FIR — for which both Sahu and Dev have been arrested — pertains to engaging in a sexual act, recording it and disseminating without consent.
