Rahul Gandhi takes food park fight to Amethi, meets farmers
Amid the row over the Amethi food park, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi reached his constituency on Monday to meet farmers. This is the first visit after his over 50-day sabbatical.
“Food park would have changed face of these districts and Amethi. Farmers would have benefited,” Rahul said.
The Congress has locked horns with the Central government after the proposed food park project was scrapped. Recently, Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani also visited Amethi where she launched a scathing attack on Rahul, saying he was least concerned with farmers’ issues.
Ever since Rahul returned from his sabbatical, he has also launched a padyatra programme as part of his outreach to farmers. He has visited the drought hit Vidharba and Telangana.
