AIPMT case: Answers from accused’s key match CBSE’s
The CBSE has refused to admit any sort of leakage and termed the police’s claims of paper leak as merely a case of “cheating”.
A majority of the answers from keys recovered from the accused in the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) leak case have matched the original answer keys uploaded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The Supreme Court had on Monday issued notices to CBSE and Haryana Police, which is probing the case, while hearing a petition filed by a group of parents seeking reconduct of the AIPMT and thorough investigation in the alleged leak.
Haryana Police had recovered the answer keys of 90 questions that formed parts of Set E and F of the AIPMT question paper. The keys were recovered from four accused caught on May 4, a day after the exam. Sources said that at least 90 per cent of the answer keys recovered from the accused matched with the actual answer key uploaded by CBSE on its website.
The CBSE, however, has refused to admit any sort of leakage and termed the police’s claims of paper leak as merely a case of “cheating”.
Haryana Police and CBSE will now have to file their replies to the Supreme Court on May 21.
“Our Special Investigation Team is on the job of preparing an elaborate reply. SIT in-charge, DSP Amit Bhatia shall be submitting reply on behalf of the investigating team in the court on Thursday,” Shrikant Jadhav, IGP (Rohtak range) told The Indian Express.
