High-end iPhone 8 to be delayed past September?
The next iPhone, which could be either named iPhone 8 or iPhone X, is said to be delayed. Apple’s next-generation iPhone may be pushed to October or November, rather than the usual launch which takes place in September. According to reports, it is believed that there are issues with the 3D sensing tech which is set to debut on the new device. These 3D sensors are said to take advantage of new augmented reality technology.
The report from Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White via CNBC stated, “First off, our smartphone contact believes the 3D sensing technology and OLED displays will only be offered with the 5.8-inch iPhone 8. However, our contact strongly believes the 5.8-inch iPhone will be delayed by several weeks due to challenges around the 3D sensing technology but still in time for the December holidays.” The new 3D sensor technology which might be placed on the front and rear cameras could possibly allow facial recognition along with augmented reality apps too.
