‘Original’ Aadhaar leaves NEET aspirants in a fix
Candidates who have wrong names or photographs on their admit cards for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled for today, have been directed to carry “original” Aadhaar Card or any Government photo identity along with them.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification on Friday saying, “Some candidates have filled in NEET online form with the help of cyber cafe owners. While uploading photograph and signature, the cyber cafe person has uploaded the wrong photograph/signature. This has come to their notice when the candidates downloaded the admit card. Such candidates are directed to carry any original government photo identity card along with them.”
The move left aspirants, who don’t have original copies of identity proof with them, in a fix. “I stay in a rented room near a coaching institute here and I don’t have the original copy of the Aadhaar card or voter ID card with me here.
I filled my NEET form online and when I downloaded my admit card the picture did not come clear. So, it becomes compulsory for me to carry the original copy,” said 19-year-old Pushkar Singh, who hails from Uttar Pradesh.
