AAP’s black sheep, Jain, once again attracts controversies
The revelations made by Kapil Mishra on Sunday have once again brought the focus back on Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who has been at the centre of many a controversies, ever since the party came to power.
Former Water Resources Minister Mishra has alleged that he saw Jain handing over Rs 2 crore to party Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The development has come as huge blow to AAP, which came to power on its anti-corruption plank.
Jain, who also heads the Public Works Department (PWD), has been under the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) scanner for money laundering. In March this year, Jain’s name figured in suspected land deals. The Income Tax (I-T) Department then attached his assets, worth Rs 33 crore, under the Benami Act.
Earlier in January, Jain had come under fire for his alleged involvement in Hawala transfers worth around Rs 17 crore. The I-T department had initiated an inquiry in to the matter.
