Arvind Kejriwal earns another bad rap
Another corruption charge has been levelled against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as former party minister Asim Ahmed Khan on Monday alleged that he was also asked for a “bribe worth Rs 5 crore” by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief.
“The party needed Rs 25 crore to buy a cable network ahead of the Punjab elections, of which Rs 5 crore was asked from me. The remaining Rs 20 crore was asked from four other MLAs. A team pressurised me into giving the money,” said Khan.
“I clearly said that they could remove me, but I would not pay. I was framed under false charges and removed from the party,” he said.
“Now, when there are allegations against Kejriwal and Satyendra Jain, why is no action being taken?” Khan questioned.
Backing suspended AAP MLA Kapil Mishra, who leveled corruption charges against Kejriwal on Sunday, Khan said, “Satyendra Jain is Kejriwal’s right hand man. Mishra’s allegations are genuine as he handed over evidence to the ACB and CBI,” Khan said.
Khan was sacked when he was Food and Civil Supplies and Environment Minister in the Kejriwal-led state cabinet in September 2015, over alleged corruption allegations.
