Govt to train 36,000 teachers
In a bid to raise the level of government education in Delhi, the state government on Tuesday kick-started a five-week long teachers’ training programme. The programme will witness a participation of around 36,000 teachers.
The State Council for Education Research & Training (SCERT) will train 26,000 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) and 10,000 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), who are currently teaching in schools run by Delhi Government.
“This round of training is the first of many in-service training capacity building exercises scheduled to be held over the year,” the government in a statement.
Each batch of TGTs will be trained over the course of four days over six such cycles at 27 venues. Similarly, PGTs will be trained over five days in four cycles at 45 venues.
