In a first, govt to open 5 English medium schools
In a first of its kind endeavour, Delhi will soon have five English-medium government schools offering state-of-the art facilities to young bright students. The endeavour has been put forward by the Delhi government who is all set to inaugurate these schools in July, as soon as the summer vacation gets over.
The Capital, so far, has 1,050 Hindi-medium government schools.
The English medium schools which will be called ‘Schools of Excellence’ will also have 25 students in primary classes (1-6) and 40 in senior classes (6-12). The government has decided to keep the size of the classes small so that every student can get exclusive attention from teachers. “The turnout of the students will be kept less in these schools. These schools will be a demonstration and a proof of confidence for the rest of the (government) schools. Our plan is to inaugurate them in July once the vacations are over,” Atishi Marlena, advisor to education minister Manish Sisodia, told DNA.
