From 9/11 to Manchester Arena attack: List of deadly terror attacks around the world
A concert by US singer Ariana Grande on Monday night turned out to be deadly for 22 people, when a suicide bomber blew himself up at Manchester Arena a little after 10.33 PM.
The terrorist attack confirmed by UK PM Theresa May, could be one of the deadliest in the country since July 2005, when 52 people were killed in a suicide bombing on London’s transport system by four British Muslims.
However, the attack at Manchester Arena could be seen as an addition to the long list of terror attacks that claimed thousands of lives across the world since 9/11.
9/11 terror attacks
Seen as the deadliest and often assumed to be the turning point for ways to deal with terrorism across the world, the 9/11 terror attacks claimed more than 3,000 lives in Washington DC and New York. 19 militants associated with al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger airlines of United Airlines and American Airlines and attacked World Trade Center, Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. The mastermind behind these attacks Osama Bin Laden was put to death, almost 10 years after the attack, by US Special Forces.
