Surat girl tops AIIMS MBBS entrance test
Nishita Purohit from Surat has created history by bagging the first rank in MBBS entrance exam conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with a 100 per cent result.
The AIIMS declared the results of its MBBS online entrance test on Thursday, after a government panel rejected the allegations of a question paper leak. The results are now available on the official website — aiimsexams.org — and also on the websites of other six AIIMS.
A thrilled Nishita said since she has always wanted to pursue MBBS from AIIMS, New Delhi, she was a step closer to fulfilling her dream of becoming a cardiac surgeon.
“I was confident of securing a slot in top 10, but never thought I would top it. This result has surpassed my expectations,” said Nishita, daughter of an IIT-M graduate father.
Nishita’s father is currently posted at Bhubaneshwar steel plant, while her brother Anshul, also an IIT Mumbai graduate, is posted in the US. Her mother is a pharmacy graduate and a homemaker.
