Man referred to SMS Hospital dies waiting for ambulance for 2 hours
An injured man died due to non-availability of the ambulance in the community health centre at Kishangarh-Renwal town in Jaipur district, only 70 kilometers away from the state capital Jaipur. The man was seriously injured and after first aid, the doctor referred him to SMS Hospital but after waiting for two hours no ambulance could be made available for him.
According to sources, a man identified as Gopal Balai, a resident of Moruda village was seriously injured when he was trying to board a shuttle train at Malikpur station around 12.45 on Monday afternoon.
He got off the train at the station to buy a water bottle but the train started moving before he could board it. In his effort to board the train, Gopal lost the balance and sustained injuries.
“The people at the station rushed him to nearby CHC from where, because of insufficient medical facilities, he was referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur,” a local resident told DNA.
“People at the hospital with him immediately call up for an ambulance but an ambulance from Govindgarh could reach only after two hours and by then the man succumbed to his injuries,” he added.
