Your collector is now just a tweet away!
After Union Minister Sushma Swaraj set an example of using her Twitter handle to promptly respond to the grievances of the general public, it is now the turn of district collectors and to officers to make themselves available in the virtual world.
At a conference in Gandhinagar last week, collectors were directed to be active on Twitter and responsive to people’s queries and grievances. So, the next time you have a grievance or need any help, simply tweet him!
Revenue Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said, “The revenue department of the Gujarat government has decided to put the PM’s Digital India concept to practice. We have got all our collectors activate their Twitter handles. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has complimented them for the initiative.”
All the district collectors have opened Twitter accounts. The Twitter handle won’t change even if the officer is transferred. So, their handles will remain permanent platforms.
Pankaj Kumar, principal secretary revenue, said, “People can use the Twitter handles for making queries, representations, complaints or suggestions. Collectors will also update information about government schemes and initiatives on Twitter handle to make people aware of the same.
