Fever struck over 4 lakh this month: AMC
If you are feeling too cold, sneezing a lot and having fever than you are not the only one. The health department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) says on an average it is testing blood samples of at least 2,000 people who are suffering from viral fever. The number of cases is on the rise after the recent spell of rain.
From July 1 to 15, we have collected over four lakh such blood samples who were suffering from viral fever, said Dr Bhavin Solanki, in-charge medical officer of health, AMC.
Private practitioners also say they have seen a spike of 10 to 15% viral cases in the last three days.
Dr Solanki said, “We have been screening over 2,000 people daily who are suffering from viral fever. Most of them are from slum pockets. We sent their blood samples for further laboratory testing to check whether they are suffering from dengue, malaria or any other vector-borne diseases.” However, Solanki said, the number of vector-borne diseases are less.
