‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ Trailer: Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar charm us in this hatke love story!

From the makers of films like Tanu Weds Manu, Raanjhanaa and Happy Bhaag Jayegi, comes another desi but hatke rom-com titled Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The trailer of the film is enough to tell you that this movie is nothing like the kind of romantic films that we’re used to watching.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar play the protagonists who’re arranged by their parents to get married soon. Bhumi plays Sugandha, who doesn’t fall into the category of a hot or sexy woman but is a simple girl with desi middle class values and Ayushmann plays Mudit, a marketing professional who doesn’t fit into the definition of today’s ‘cool guy.’

The trailer sums up the journey of their romance from their engagement to their wedding which seems impossible once Sugandha’s family learns about Mudit suffering from erectile dysfunction. While Sugandha’s father considers calling off the wedding if Mudit is not ‘cured’, Mudit on the other hand is determined to marry his beloved Sugandha, even if it means having to elope with her.

We’ll have to watch out for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan which releases on September 1 to know if the blossoming romance of Sugandha and Mudit will finally culminate into marriage or not. The …read more
