Blue Whale Challenge: 13-year-old commits suicide in Uttar Pradesh
A 13-year-old boy has committed suicide after following instructions of the fatal online game ‘Blue Whale’, police said on Monday.
Parth Singh from Hamirpur district’s Maudaha village in Uttar Pradesh was found hanging in his bedroom on Sunday night.
The class sixth student had his father’s phone with him and was reportedly playing the suicide game, that instructs a player to commit suicide after completing 50 challenges, police said.
Parth had been playing Blue Whale game from the past few days, according to his family.
“When the boy did not open the door, his father broke it open and found him hanging. We are sending IT experts to go through the mobile records and history,” Maudaha circle officer (CO) Abhishek Yadav told a news agency.
The Director General of Police Sulkhan Singh, in a letter to all district police chiefs had urged for complete compliance to the centre’s order of banning the dangerous game.
