Man crushed under Army truck, officer arrested
A 37-year-old motorcyclist was crushed under an Army truck near Pancharipuri on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested the driver who is an officer of the Assam Regiment.
A senior police officer said that they received a PCR call reporting a fatal accident near Pancharipuri.
When a police team arrived on the spot, they found a severed body lying near the tyre of the truck. The deceased was identified as Naushad Aminuddin, a resident of Jamia Nagar, who worked as a carpenter.
“According to eye-witnesses, two men — who were later identified as Aminuddin and Mohammad Aarif — both residents of Seelampur, were travelling on a bike. The duo were on Kariyappa Marg when an Army truck hit their bike from behind. While Aarif, who was riding the bike, was thrown meters away, Aminuddin fell under the truck and was crushed to death,” said a senior police officer.
According to police, the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem. Aarif, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
