Result delay: MU students to lose a year at Harvard
Two final year LLB students of the Government Law College (GLC) have to lose out on a year at the Harvard Law School (HLS) due to the result mess at the University of Mumbai. Two students from the college who were set to join the LLM course at the prestigious university had to come back from Cambridge after the confidential results issued by the university did not meet the requirements of the law school.
Both these students had applied for confidential results at the University’s help desk at its Kalina campus. While the university did send the confidential results to Harvard, admissions of these two students were deferred until next year as the complete break up of their marks did not reach the admission office before August 14 — which was the extended deadline given to the students owing to MU’s delay.
“We applied for the Confidential Report but did not know what format the results would be given in. While the report did reach Harvard, the university could not accept it as it did not have the marks break up. By the time we could approach MU again, the deadline at Harvard was over,” said the student.
