GU sets up Heritage Preservation Centre
During the two-day visit, Mrs Abe met and interacted with 30 Japanese students at Gujarat University who are on campus as part of an exchange programme.
Mrs PM was welcomed by Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Dr Himanshu Pandya. Pandya presented her a framed copy of a first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed by Japan Ottoman University in 1962.
Interestingly, during her visit, GU also announced setting up of Technology and Heritage Preservation Interpretation Centre (THIC).
Confirming the same, Pandya said, “It was a moment of pride for us during her visit. We discussed at length how we can collaborate for the benefit of students. We also discussed the climate change, social work, social welfare and other such issues.”
