Govt denies rumours on power for Mehbooba Mufti
The Jammu and Kashmir government has strongly refuted reports circulating on social media that power supply has been cut off in 30 villages to provide electricity to the guest house that is housing Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Budgam district.
Social media was abuzz with reports that the Power Development Department (PDD) had cut off power supply to 30 villages to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Budgam Dak Bungalow where Mufti is staying for the night.
Taking her public outreach further, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti had convened a public grievances redressal camp at Budgam on Sunday where she interacted with hundreds of people and deputation.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was quick to jump on the bandwagon asking Mehbooba to go home to allow resumption of power supply to villages. “If this is true Mehbooba Mufti, Budgam is only 40-45 minutes from Fairview can you please go home & let these villages have electricity? (sic)” he tweeted
The government, however, did not take it lying down and came out strongly against the reports.
