Ranji Trophy: Team Raj’s dismal show continues
The wagging tail of Team Rajasthan that contributed 41 runs could make a little difference to help dig the team out of the rather sizeable hole of their own making. Facing a 73-run deficit after being bundled out at a meagre score of 150 in the first innings, Pankaj Singh and Co are now staring at defeat in Lahli. Only a win here could have keep their hopes alive for making into the knockouts, but with this possibility nowhere in the equation, Rajasthan will once again end their Rani Trophy campaign on a dismal low.
Moreover, in the second innings, Haryana executed more judiciously and after initial blows, inflicted by left-arm pacer Aniket Choudhary, the team consolidated well and at the end of day-3 the hosts were comfortably on top, taking a lead of 252 runs. S R Chauhan scored 65 from 104 balls while RP Sharma (25) and Amit Mishra (4) were at the crease.
