Gujarat Elections 2017 | Padmavati ban for women’s honour: Vijay Rupani
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday said Padmavati movie was banned to keep the honour of women intact.
Addressing BJP women workers’ convention in Rajkot on Saturday, he said, “The film release was stopped in the state as the character of Padmavati, who represents Indian culture and the pride of women in India was presented in a bad shape in the film. It also does not present the character of the queen in a proper manner. In Gujarat, we respect women.”
He added, “The filmmaker tweaked the history by playing with the sentiments of people which cannot be tolerated. We cannot let some people play with the pride of Indian women, as they are always respected in Indian culture.”
