The South Korean tech company has recently filed a patent for a technology that uses palm scanning as a means of verifying a user’s identity on future Galaxy smartphones. Samsung wants to ensure that the user requesting for the password hint is the owner of the device itself.
The patent suggests that the company will use the camera of the device to take a picture of the palm and the combination of lines on a user’s palm will be matched with the one stored on the smartphone. The technology will then display various letters from the user’s password, to help remember the password. However, it must be noted that this technology will not work with Samsung Pay.
