Rajasthan hacking: Bengal Congress accuses Mamata Banerjee of trying to reap political dividend
State Congress president Adhir Chowdhury on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was trying to reap political dividend after the ‘hate murder’ of Bengal-based labourer Md Afrazul Khan in Rajasthan.
“In the wake of the brutal murder, Mamata had taken an unprecedented step by organising a political meeting right at the doorstep of the deceased, the very next day after his body arrived when the entire family of the victim, according to the rituals of condolence, was reciting the Holy Quran. I think Mamata herself is not acquainted with the established religious Muslim rituals after death. I found that Trinamool was over-enthusiastic in expressing their grief and sorrow while ignoring the rituals of the Muslim community,” he said talking to DNA .
He further added, “While speaking in that political programme under the guise of condolence, even the ministers were simply harping on the magnanimity of Mamata Banerjee which does not have even scant relation with the murder. Certainly, it is garnering political dividend out of the brutal death. It was found that Mamata had virtually started campaigning for panchayat polls in that area.”
