Thrown out of class for not paying school fees, Hyderabad girl ends life
In Hyderabad, a 14-year-old girl ended her life on Thursday after her school threw her out of class due to non-payment of fees.
The class IX girl was barred from appearing in an examination for not paying her school fees.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Hyderabad’s Rachakonda.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Malkajgiri, Uma Maheshwar said, ‘The 14-year-old student of Jyothi High School committed suicide by hanging herself in her residence.’
‘After returning from school, the girl complained that her class teacher did not allow her to give exam and insulted her for not paying fees,’ he said.
According to media reports, the student’s family was facing financial trouble for a long time. The teenager’s father, who was an auto driver, was unable to pay her school fees on time.
Malkajgiri police have also recovered a suicide note which elaborated the same incident as the cause of her suicide.
A case has been registered under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
