Pakistan used missiles to target India’s forward posts on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu division in the Sunday attack, the Indian Army has said.
Four soldiers including a Captain were killed and another injured when Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on Indian forward posts in Bhimber Gali sector along the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday.
The martyred soldiers were identified as Captain Kapil Kund of Gurugram, Rifleman Ramavatar of Gwalior, Rifleman Subham Singh of Kathua and Havildea Roshan Lal of Samba
What has added a new dimension to the whole saga is the use of missiles by the Pakistan Army to hit Indian posts apart from heavy caliber mortar shells.
“Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of Small arms, automatics, mortars and missiles from 3.30 pm (on Sunday) in Bhimber Gali sector along the Line of Control (LoC)”, said Colonel NN Joshi, defence spokesman at Northern Command Headquarters.
Sources said the Pakistan Army is using anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) aka Bakthar Shikan to target the Indian forward positions on the LoC.
